Frequently Asked Questions

Suite, 3 Bedrooms, Oceanfront (Vanderbilt) FAQs

What does the Suite, 3 Bedrooms, Oceanfront (Vanderbilt) look out on?
This suite faces the Atlantic oceanfront at Condado Vanderbilt Hotel. Natural light fills the living areas and the private balconies, so the sea is part of the suite and not just a view from one window. If you are travelling with young children, note that the hotel advises guests with concerns about its balconies, patios and terraces to contact the property before arrival so a suitable room can be arranged.
How are the beds arranged and how many guests does the suite sleep?
The suite has three bedrooms with 2 King Beds and 2 Queen Beds, and it sleeps up to 8 guests. Each bed has premium bedding and a pillowtop mattress. That makes it a good fit for two or three couples, or for a family with older children and grandparents travelling together.
Is this suite a good choice for families or groups?
Yes. At 2,920 sq. ft. it is the kind of space the hotel's family-friendly, group-friendly guests look for, with separate bedrooms and generous living areas. Up to two children aged 12 and under can stay free using existing bedding, while children 13 and over are charged as adults. The hotel has a 21-year minimum age to check in, and guests under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
What is the bathroom like, and is the suite accessible?
The private bathroom has a shower and bathtub combination, bathrobes, slippers, a hair dryer, towels, shampoo, soap and free toiletries. A toothbrush and toothpaste are available on request. Accessibility features include a grab bar near the toilet, a raised toilet seat, a portable bathtub seat, and a low-height counter and sink. The suite also has wheelchair-width doorways, lever door handles, Braille and raised signage, a visual fire alarm, and doorbell and phone notification.
What is included with this suite?
In the room you get a 42-inch LCD TV with premium channels (pay movies are also offered), air conditioning and free wired internet. The hotel also offers complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi throughout the property. A mandatory resort fee covers pool and beach access, beach loungers and towels, fitness center access, in-room bottled water, in-room coffee and an in-room safe. Cooked-to-order breakfast is an extra charge.
How close is the suite to the beach and the pools?
Condado Vanderbilt Hotel sits directly on the beach on Ashford Avenue in the Condado district of San Juan. It has four outdoor pools, including a children's pool and an adults-only infinity pool on the West Tower side. The hotel has reserved beach seating, but the beach itself is public. Ocean swimming can be rough and is often red-flagged for rip currents, so the pools are the better option on those days.
Where can we eat without leaving the hotel?
The hotel has three on-site restaurants and several bars. Ola Oceanfront Bistro serves breakfast, lunch and dinner in a relaxed, family-friendly oceanfront setting. 1919 Restaurant is the fine-dining option, and STK San Juan is a modern steakhouse. Tacos & Tequila is in the lobby, and the VC Lounge has an oceanfront terrace for cocktails. Hours change by venue and day, so check them when you plan your evenings. Dinner at 1919 Restaurant is by reservation.
How do we get to the hotel, and is parking available?
Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport is roughly 10 to 15 minutes by car, and taxis and rideshares are easy to find. Valet parking is available for a fee of about USD 30 per day. Old San Juan is a 10 to 15 minute drive, which makes the hotel a convenient base for day trips. The front desk and concierge are available 24 hours a day, and luggage storage is offered for early arrivals and late departures.
What are the check-in and check-out times?
Check-in begins at 4:00 PM and the hotel's own FAQ gives check-out as 11:00 AM. Early arrivals and late departures can be accommodated based on availability. Guests need to show a photo ID and a credit card at check-in.
